Volunteer Prison Chaplain - Applications ongoing

The Central Committee of the Anglican Church in Belgium is seeking Volunteer Prison Chaplains to offer pastoral presence and spiritual support within the Belgian prison system.

Volunteer Prison Chaplains accompany inmates who request pastoral care, regardless of faith or belief, and serve as a calm, respectful presence in a challenging environment. Working within Anglican, ecumenical, and interconvictional chaplaincy teams, chaplains support the spiritual wellbeing of prisoners and contribute to humane and dignified prison life.

Ministry includes regular visits to one or more prisons, opportunities for prayer and worship, pastoral conversations, and participation in chaplaincy meetings and training. Chaplains are appointed, accredited, and supervised by the Central Committee through the Anglican Prison Chaplaincy Coordinator.

Volunteer Healthcare Chaplain - Applications ongoing

The Central Committee of the Anglican Church in Belgium invites applications for Volunteer Healthcare Chaplains to provide pastoral and spiritual care in hospitals and other healthcare settings.

Volunteer Healthcare Chaplains offer compassionate presence to patients, relatives, and—upon request—healthcare staff, regardless of religious affiliation or belief. Chaplains work as part of interdisciplinary and ecumenical teams, supporting individuals at times of illness, vulnerability, and loss.

The role involves regular pastoral presence within assigned healthcare institutions, participation in chaplaincy meetings and training, and collaboration with Anglican and institutional partners. Chaplains are accredited and supported by the Central Committee and the Anglican Healthcare Chaplaincy Coordinator.

Volunteer Healthcare Chaplaincy Coordinator - Open to applications

The Central Committee of the Anglican Church in Belgium is seeking a Healthcare Chaplaincy Coordinator to support and coordinate Anglican healthcare chaplaincy in Flemish-speaking regions.

The coordinator provides pastoral leadership, oversight, and support to Volunteer Healthcare Chaplains, and serves as a key link between chaplains, healthcare institutions, and the Central Committee. The role helps ensure consistent, professional, and Anglican-rooted chaplaincy within an ecumenical healthcare context.

Responsibilities include coordination, supervision, training support, and representation of Anglican healthcare chaplaincy, in close collaboration with the Secretary-General. Applicants must be fluent Flemish-speakers.

Anglican Religious Education Teachers - Applications ongoing

The Central Committee of the Anglican Church in Belgium is seeking Anglican Religious Education (RE) teachers for posts in the Flanders and Brussels regions.

Anglican RE Teachers provide structured, high-quality religious education rooted in the Anglican tradition and delivered in accordance with Belgian educational requirements. Teaching supports pupils’ spiritual, moral, and cultural development, while encouraging respectful engagement with Christianity and other worldviews.

Teachers work within recognised school frameworks and collaborate with school authorities, inspectors, and the Central Committee.

This is a paid position, with employment conditions set by the relevant educational authorities.
