On 11 December in the Archbishop's Palace in Mechelen, the Chaplain-President, representing Lambeth Palace, Bishop Robert and the Central Committee, participated in a meeting of the steering-group which is preparing Malines100, the centenary celebrations of the famous and innovative Anglican-Roman Catholic Malines Conversations begun by Cardinal Désiré-Joseph Mercier and Lord Halifax in 1921. A major international conference organised by KU Leuven will take place in Mechelen from 18-20 September 2025, with Sunday 21 September a day of ecumenical Anglican-Catholic worship in Mechelen Cathedral. A detailed programme will be released in February.
